Modern Mini Quilt Challenge : Feathers in Modernity

Hi!

I am just having fun and thought I'd link this recently made quilt to Ellison's Modern Mini Quilt Challenge.

Feather Mini

The main point of this quilt was for me to use the technique I learn from Sarah Fielke's craftsy class : needle turn appliqué! I never would have thought that needle-turn appliqué would be this easy until I tried her method!

I was aiming for minimalist design with some fussy cut feather off Martha Negley's feather collection and freehand leaves shape. I got my bundle of Martha Negley's from Westwood Acres.

The colour choices : not really me isn't? Haha! I was trying to run a bit from my normal bright colours - I kind of regret a bit for the choice.

And as for the quilting, not so minimalist ha? I was aiming to practice feathers. Hence the feathers everywhere. It was totally fun, and definitely has boosted my confidence to do more of quilted feathers.

Well, I hope you will have fun hopping onto Ellison's blog for more minis! I know I am.

XOXO
